B.Tech in Computer Science & Information Technology (B.Tech – CSIT) is an undergraduate program focused on the application of computing technologies across diverse industries. Information Technology deals with the use of computers and related systems to store, retrieve, process, transmit, and manage information. While the program has a strong foundation in computing, it differs from traditional B.Tech (CSE) and B.Tech (CST) by also emphasising management principles and information systems. Thus, whereas Computer Science primarily focuses on the scientific and theoretical aspects of computing, Information Technology concentrates more on the business, communication, and application-oriented use of technology, especially in areas such as e-commerce, e-business, and enterprise applications. The duration of the course is four years, and the whole syllabus is distributed over eight semesters.

The department was established with an intake capacity of 60 students, which continues to date. It is supported by a strong team of faculty members, many of whom hold M.Tech and PhD qualifications. We provide a strong academic and research environment. Our faculty actively engages in research and quality teaching, enabling students to work on real-world problems and meaningful projects.
