The prime objective of the Department of Science and Humanities at TAT is to provide the students with deep insights into basic sciences and lay a solid foundation among the engineering students during their four years of study. TAT is popular for its professional approach in teaching, focused action and strategic direction in imparting goal oriented academic delivery. In general, TAT provides ample opportunities to hone the students’ creative skill by involving them in academic activities and boosting their self-image, people skills and attitude through PD sessions, and enhancing their communication skills and public speaking abilities through debate and GD sessions.

The Department of Science and Humanities comprises of the Department of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Economics and Management. All the departments are adequately staffed with sincere and dedicated faculty members with specialization in their respective field of study, competent enough to enrich the students’ understanding by imparting them strong conceptual clarity in both theory and practical. Most of the senior faculty members hold PhD degree and other faculty members are in active pursuance of their PhD degree from different reputed universities. All the science Labs are well equipped with up-to-date equipment and apparatus to do all the experiments as per the syllabus of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The Department of English is equipped with modern Language Lab with state-of-the-art software and hardware facilities to help students immensely in learning English, gain expertise and proficiency in English language communication skill. Department of Science and Humanities is sound both in terms of its faculty and facilities. The Department of Science and Humanities supplements the academic curricular gap incurred, if any, in the regular classroom delivery, is replenished through coordinated action by organizing periodic guest lectures with the help of eminent faculties and industry experts.
